Interlude - The Machu Picchu Sun Gate Photo Calamity

"Hey mate, if I pass you my camera would you mind taking a shot of me before the clouds come in again?"

"Sure man, I just need to waste several minutes hoisting a girl into the air for a random photo which seems like a good idea to her but is just an excuse for me to grab her arse"

... some time passes ...

"OK, ready now, are you?"

"As I have been for the last five minutes, pal.  Cloud's coming in now so shoot! ..."

"OK, I'm not gonna lie, it's a nice shot despite me looking like shit coz I trekked for four days to get here.  When I show my M&P they're gonna ask me if I know the folically challenged dude standing next to me.  I don't.  Any chance we could try that again?"

"Yay!  Portrait shot, nice work!  You've adequately demonstrated your ability to rotate the camera through 90 degrees which produces an equally superb shot.  I know, it's a neat little camera and quite vertsatile.  However, still getting a little too much of the bald geezer for my liking.  If it helps I've got a zoom facility.  Might come in handy.  Mind giving it another go"

"Yeah see, I'm still not feeling it but lets persevere.  Did I mention I've travelled 6,000 miles to get here?  As you can see, it's a struggle for me to look human and I've got a cramp in the face from grinning.  Did I mention the zoom?"

"Close, but no Cuban.  You see, portrait with just a little zoom would have sufficed perfectly given the circumstances but I can tell you ain't seen a camera in the last fifteen years.  Did you know I've dreamt of this moment since you were a twinkle in your uncle's best mate's eye and the weather gods don't give a shit either way.  Let me show you how that funky little zoom feature works and we can get outta here.  Just a little should do it"

"Fuck you and the donkey you rode in on!"

  2. Just enjoying looking through your blogg so far. I'm surprised how much I actually remember myself from your photos. The flightline through Fremont street looks brilliant. I will definately do that next time I am there. Dead jealous about the Galapagos. Keep us posted. Paul, Lesleyanne and Freddie
